Like every design we sell, each one represents a real person with a real story.
Artisan Muskan in India is the woman behind many of our customers’ favorite designs, including the Rise and Shine Coffee Scoop, the Hope Spreader Set, the Sprig Tea Spoon Set, and several designs in the April: Chapter 4 Lookbook. Her most recent creations are the Golden Bee Dish, and both trivets in our Beehive Trivet Set: the Honeycomb Trivet and the Bumblebee Trivet!
Muskan works alongside five of her cousins in a small family workshop in India, where the older cousins are passing down their family’s Artisan traditions to the next generation.
The leaders of the Artisan community sing her and her teammates’ praises as they share, “Shakeel, Muskan and Kamerule are extremely talented and are really hardworking individuals. Earlier, they lived in a village in a small room together. But now, due to all their hard work and talent, they are progressing and making a better life. Muskan was always inspired by handicraft items. Her husband is immensely supportive and lets her pursue this dream, and that’s something which is really rare in rural areas.”
Muskan works with the dream of providing better opportunities for her children than she had growing up, and hopes for a better tomorrow for generations to come!
