Happy Sunday!
You’re off to a great start! Thank you for using your voice on behalf of those whose voices are oppressed! Every post matters!
Sunday, 4/23 – Style Challenge: Freedom Through Fashion (Forced Labor)
Today we spotlight those trafficked into forced labor to work in the fast-fashion industry.
- Wear an accessory made by human trafficking survivors as a vehicle to talk about how the fast fashion industry uses forced labor and exploitation of women and girls.
-
Post a selfie in your fair-trade accessory and contrast the woman who made your Trades of Hope design, who is experiencing healing and hope through her work.
- Share one of her quotes and photos. (As easy as looking up what you’re wearing and pulling the Artisan’s Story of Hope directly from the website!)
- Share how it feels knowing you work with her as a Trades of Hope Partner.
- Share the graphic showing 80% of people who make clothing are women aged 18-24 and make less than $3/day.
- Remember to mix in the Artisans’ “I made your jewellery” images throughout the week!
Don’t forget the hashtags on your public posts! #tradesofhope #fashionrevolutionweek #fairtradefashion #ethicalfashion #womenhelpingwomen #fastfashion #fashionrevolution
You can find story versions of all graphics are in the Media tab in Hope Central, with all things #FRW here:
