For every giveback necklace purchased at retail price, $10 will be donated through our Gifts of Hope program towards educating children in Haiti.

Each gold-tone Girls’ Education Necklace gives towards sending a girl to school at Touch of Hope School in Haiti.

Touch of Hope is associated with the Artisans who make our hand-made greeting cards. It is a a non-profit working to see families strengthened in Haiti. They do this through three core values: Education, Orphan Care, and Job Creation.

Each silver-tone Girls’ Education Necklace gives towards sending a girl to school at L’Êcole Royale, the school associated with Lunch Bucket in Haiti.

Founder Gretchen first met Alix Charles, Lunch Bucket founder, when in partnership many years ago at the orphanage she started. Trades of Hope has supported the Lunch Bucket through various givebacks over the years. L’École Royale donations will create pathways for future generations of leaders in Haiti to get a strong start. For EVERY 3 Girls’ Education Necklaces sold, you send a girl for a full month. For EVERY 9 sold, you send her to school for a full quarter … Every 36 sold sends her to school for 12 months … and so on…

“I worked in a brothel with an abusive owner where I was constantly surrounded by violence. Artisan outreach teams visited me regularly to offer me the opportunity to experience freedom through a job at their jewelry company.

Since becoming an Artisan, my life has become very rich and one that I love. I didn’t have an opportunity to study much when I was younger. Since coming to this Artisan community, I have studied computers, received my certification in Microsoft Word, and attended literacy classes.

Now, I’m a part of a healthy work environment where people are kind and respectful to one another. I’ve learned that people can be honest. I love that I have many friendships here! I love that my coworkers celebrate my life and achievements!”
