Meet the Artisan: Babli’s Story of Hope 
Babli lives in an area of extreme poverty in India where vulnerable women are often exploited in sweatshops with unfair wages, unreasonable hours, and unsafe workspaces. As an Artisan in this workshop, she is able to earn fair wages working reasonable hours in a safe workspace. The income she earns as an Artisan is empowering her to lead her family out of poverty.

“I am happy that I am working with this artisan community. My life has certainly improved while spending my last 14 years here. It has allowed me to give a better education to my children. They want to study further and work. I want to see their dreams fulfilled. I am also happy that I was able to afford a small house of our own. Though it is small, we don’t have to pay the rent. I hope that I can build one more room in the future. Here I can also save some money in a self-help group. Also, we get support for our health.
