Brewing Instructions:

Use 1-2 Teaspoons (per 8oz of water)
Steep in hot water for 3-5 minutes. Sweeten, if desired, to taste.
Since this is a loose-leaf tea, use a tea strainer or a French Press coffee maker to separate the husks from the tea.

NATALIA BLEND + MAYAN BLEND COFFEES

Both blends were created by Guatemalan coffee plantation owners, Don Pablo + Sara. Although Don Pablo has been in the coffee industry with his family for decades, t\\heir partnership with Trades of Hope began a few years ago. Here’s part of the story of how this connection began after the birth of their daughter:

During our stay at the ICU with our daughter, Natalia, we witnessed very difficult stories with other families and babies. As a family in Guatemala, we were blessed to have medical insurance and private hospital attention. But other families during our visit didn’t have the same story. Our hearts broke several nights as we saw babies and families entering the hospital due to an emergency and leaving the next morning as they could not afford the hospital. There was a dad who even tried to get a bank loan, but he wasn’t able to get it, so they left to a public hospital where conditions are not the same. In fact, you can get even sicker.

Because of that experience, Sara and I decided to create a fund through this Natalia Blend Coffee to help babies in Guatemala receive the care they need in ICU.

Coffee plantation owners Don Pablo and his wife Sarah have worked with us to continue providing new ways for you to market their ethically grown, harvested, and roasted beans to bring you this new way to reach more customers. “I have worked as a coffee roaster and packaging coffee for 12 years. I was looking for a job opportunity and the opportunity to learn to roast coffee came up. I learned to roast all different types of coffee depending on the order. To roast coffee is a very delicate process, plus you have to be very concentrated. One minute more or less can make the difference. Where I live there are not a lot of job opportunities, so you have to travel to bigger towns. Without my job, I wouldn’t have any income to support my family and I would have less opportunities. My work is helping me to achieve my dreams because it gives me new opportunities and new things to learn. My dream is that the coffee business grows so we all have a job.”
